address labels
since deer are so cool this year, i decided to design the address labels for our xmas cards:
of course, that isn't our names or our address, but you get the picture. i really like the look of square address labels. really, i just get tired of the same ol' rectangle;)
anywho, if you are interested in some (either like these or you have an idea for a custom design), let me know and i'll see what i can do. i love graphic design.

l
i just realized a theme... when i like something, i really like it... like i'm obsessed with it. seriously... it's a problem.
for example, i saw this doodlebug paper in a magazine... flocked damask (!!!)... and i didn't care if we were going to get it at work... i wasn't going to wait. so i ordered it online within a week. and thank goodness i did because we aren't carrying it. sheesh;)
i knew when i saw it that i would use it for decoration in lily's room. her bedset is black and white damask, so i thought the pop of hot pink would look awesome. and it does;) i had bought the large mdf letter from work (50% off) and wanted to do something with it for her room and then i see this paper and it was fate. hahaha. scrapbookers are crazy, did i ever tell you?
anyway... i think this looks good on her wall. i still have a frame set to decorate too for the wall, so look out for that coming soon.
supplies used:
mdf letter: ek success; l
paper: doodlebug; flocked bubblegum, archiver's; black linen, paper co.; metallic silver cover
crystals: mark richards; 3mm black, large clear, ek success; precious finds black gems
ink: colorbox; charcoal
paint: making memories; asphalt
adhesive: mod podge, pop dots
punches: fiskars; oopsie daisy extra large, large
other: ribbon
turtle card
this was a thank you card for my friend kelly who i have mentioned before. she helped me immensely with the baby shower and she loves turtles, so even though i didn't know what it was going to be when i was making it, i knew at the end! my mother-in-law was in town and had her cricut expression with her and she was kind enough to let me play with it one night (my first time really using one). geez louise- i now have an itching for one, but the baybee must come first! right? right! :)
supplies used:
cardstock: bazzil, archiver's
diecut machine: cricut expression; walk in my garden cartridge
ink: colorbox; chestnut roan
pen: sakura glaze pen; black
clear acrylic: grafix; clear craft plastic
other: staples
just wanted to say...
this was the thank you card for the wedding gifts we received. i am obsessed with using the clear acrylic on anything... i think it is a nice surprise for those who aren't in scrapbooking/card making when they receive it in the mail. i mean, a clear card?!?! whodathunkit?
supplies used:
paper: my minds eye; 29th street market summer dress/blue sash
die cut: my minds eye; 29th street market fresh "beauty" flower
clear acrylic: grafix; clear craft plastic
stamp: hero arts; just wanted

cardstock: archiver's; jungle

new stuff coming up!
so, just a forewarning... there will be quite a few new crafty posts after this one. i am finally getting around to editing photos of things i've made recently. so look forward to this blog actually getting some attention!
in other news, johnny and i did in fact get married... on july 10th to be exact. i am a thoroughly blessed little lady. and in baby news, we had the baby shower at my work, archiver's, which was a scrapbooking baby shower... a lot of fun i must add and lily's room is coming together quite nicely. i am definitely feeling the nesting bit of this pregnancy. it's hard to think that we are 21+/- days from finally meeting our little one! i am excited. and honestly, if she wants to come sooner, i won't mind;)
i hope all are well!

the suspense is growing!
so the last post i make i say i'm going to post more and tell you all about the baybee and what do i do? make you all wait 3 weeks. shame on me.
anywho... the baybee is a girl:) and we've decided to name her lily. she is a busy bee here lately and makes her presence known. john really likes feeling her move around which is really cute. brendan likes to hug my belly and tell the baybee he loves her. man, i'm a lucky gal.
john and i are talking about getting married this week. it will probably happen thursday as we are both off. i wanted to have some sort of wedding, but really i just want to be married and maybe for our 1 year anniversary we could have something small. i am hoping to have a cookout and have everyone come over to celebrate. we'll see;)
i should really get my act together and get crafty, but my stuff is in disarray because john is trying to build an office/craft room in the basement so the baybee can be in the room across from us. let's just say i try and stay out of his way;)
i will post more when interesting things are actually happening.

baybee!
i don't post about my personal life much around here, but i wanted to let any wanderers know that today is the day that we will find out the sex of the baybee!
i think i will start to post more about my personal (boring) life as well as post more in general. i haven't been "crafting" too much lately... johnny has been working a lot and i can't get myself motivated to do much of anything when no one is around;)
i have however started on my first altered book which i will post the end result when i finish (will i know when i'm "finished"???)
i hope everyone is well!

funny faces
since i'm fairly new to scrapbooking i decided to do 8x8 layouts because it doesn't seem as intimidating as 12x12. throughout my observations, i've noticed that some will do half layouts... 6x12 and i thought it was pretty clever. i looked around for 4x8 page protectors or really any other size pages for my 8x8 album to no avail, so this morning, i decided to cut a 8x8 page in half and make my own;)
here is my first attempt at an odd shaped layout and i really like the contrast to the full pages when it's in the album; it keeps you guessing;)
supplies used:
paper: my mind's eye; bohemia- boulevard "family ties" harlequin/green
chalk: colorbox chalk- cheastnut roan
letters: american crafts thickers; daiquiri black
embellishments: fancy pants; harvest felt shapes

i've done quite a bit more scrapping lately... i don't know what's gotten into me!
the next couple posts will be what i've worked on lately. expect a few;)
after getting our first ultrasound and realizing that my free days are numbered, i guess i've got a little fire under my butt. that and i've recently acquired some nifty details, etc. from work (archiver's). enjoy!

sisters layout
one of my first layouts ever. i started this layout knowing i wanted to do some "weaving" of those ribbons... i loved the color combination with the flowers behind the photo. i remember picking up the ribbons at target and the flowers might be making memories, but aside from that, i don't know what i used;) i am going to have to start recording this stuff;))))
digital layout i.
this is my first all digital scrapbooking layout. i really like the idea of digital scrapbooking, but would probably add some "real" embellishments to add depth and dimension if i were to put this in one of my scrapbooks.
the kit used is called "sun porch" by designer amy teets. you can find that kit here for free.

accordian book
i just finished this card/book for my johnny. i initially wanted it to be done for valentine's day, but after finding out we are expecting and dealing with the nausea that comes along with that, i didn't get to finish it in time for heart day. i did however get it done in time for our 1 year anniversary which is coming in three days. check out my flickr account for more pics of the book.
ottie the octopus
this is my first attempt at a knit animal. i found a pattern online for an octopus and realized later that it was for crochet. at the time, i didn't really know enough crochet so i knitted one (basically bastardizing the pattern). haha. his name is ottie and he is still waiting for 4 more legs.
oops;)
oops;)
newbie
i've decided to make this blog to showcase my many creative attempts... whether in scrapbooking, knitting, photography or whatever. i hope you will enjoy my posts and please feel free to comment -- i need feedback whenever possible:)
